Reporting to the National Manager, Brand Communications, this position is responsible for leveraging marketing science tools and data to help plan Mazda Canada’s marketing campaigns, measure their effectiveness in market, perform post analysis and work with other internal stakeholders to model and forecast business opportunity. The position will also be responsible for managing the programmatic media partners and delivering regular reporting against digital media investment.
Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Develop econometric modeling and simulations/forecasts and apply to marketing mix optimization, campaign segmentation, pricing optimization and customer lifetime value analyses to support client engagements
  • Assist in retrieving, compiling, and formatting large volumes of data
  • Work directly with programmatic media partners to plan digital investments, set targets, develop digital media audiences, measure effectiveness and adjust as necessary
  • Analyze data to generate graphics for use presentations
  • Utilize proprietary research tools to retrieve various types of data (macroeconomic, marketing, business, etc.)
  • Build forecasts and budgets based on historical data as part of the planning process
  • Act as primary day-to-day contact on insights and analytics to digital and traditional media managers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage project timelines and deliverable schedules
Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, or Applied Math is preferred.
  • 5 years related work experience
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations using statistical and econometric modeling techniques.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on capability of digital media and website reporting tools such as Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics 360
  • Knowledge of industry research sources, such as Nielsen/IRI sales data or TV/online advertising data and internal data sources.  
  • Experience with database tools (SQL, Oracle, and Access).
  • Comprehensive understanding of metrics:  Media (e.g. buying models, CPV, VCR, GRP), Measurement analytics, Quantitative business measures (LTV, NPV, ROI, Churn, etc.), Statistics (Correlations, sample sizing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of visual techniques for data analysis and presentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Automotive experience would be of strong asset for this job
