The Specialist, Domestic Inventory Operations role (reporting to the Manager, Inventory Operations) will be responsible for ensuring continuity of supply for all parts that fall under assigned vendors. The incumbent will also be responsible for various activities related to supply planning in the areas related to forecasting, sourcing, and stocking while ensuring corporate fill rates and inventory levels are met.
Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):
Execute supply plans based on inventory position, supplier lead times, supplier capacity, safety stock requirements, etc. to support department KPIs.
Analyse inventory levels and expedited order placement to minimize cost of premium freight.
Conduct analysis and corrective action for dealer backorders and out of stock situations.
Act as a liaison between suppliers and MCI to resolve procurement related problems.
Report monthly excess and obsolete inventory levels to management.
Develop recommendations to improve inventory management and productivity.
Support the Inventory Management team with master data and report generation.
PO Management - including managing failed outbound PO lines, updating past due POs, and reconciling ASN data.
Create and maintain all documentation as it pertains to the standard operating procedures.
Minimum 2-3 years of related work experience in supply chain/planning.
APICS or similar accreditation or current enrolment in a recognized program considered an asset.
Solid ERP / MRP experience, preferably with an Oracle background.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to independently, adapt, prioritize and multi-task.
Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
Demonstrated ability to use analytical tools to solve problems.
Continuous improvement and results oriented mindset.
Proficient in MS Office software; intermediate Excel skills (including use of formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, etc.)
Knowledge and/or passion for the automotive industry will be considered an asset, but not required.
