The Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications is a Hybrid role/based out of the Richmond Hill office reporting to the Director of Public Relations & Corporate Affairs. This position will assist in the planning, development and implementation of Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility activities to increase brand awareness and maintain an excellent corporate reputation for Mazda Canada.
Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):
Assist Director of Public Relations & Corporate Affairs in the development of a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy
Manage and execute the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and initiatives
Work with Public Relations agency to develop and execute corporate media strategies
Establish Corporate Social Responsibility governance to ensure internal and external compliance
Assist Director of Public Relations & Corporate Affairs and Manager, Product Communications with event coordination, including attendee registration, venue planning, Food & Beverage planning, travel, and communications
Collaborate with Senior Management and subject matter leads to ensure internal communication
Develop strategic internal communications materials, such as memos, frequently asked questions and presentations to employees and dealers
Develop and craft corporate communication materials, such as press releases, media statements, frequently asked questions, and presentations
Monitor and report Corporate Social Responsibility activities
Liaise with corporate and business media for media pitches and requests
Track budget items for various Public Relations and event projects and analyzing variances between budget and actuals
Review and process all department purchase orders and invoices using the Concur System
Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, public relations, or journalism.
Minimum of 2 -4 years of related work experience, preferably in a corporate or agency corporate communications/public relations role.
Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to independently, adapt, prioritize and multi-task.
Knowledge and/or passion for the automotive industry will be considered an asset, but not required.
